On Saturday 15th February Lawrence Boran and Gerard Claffey ran in the heats of the 800m. at the National Senior Track Championships in Athlone. Lawrence ran 2.08.8 in his heat, while Gerard ran 2.11.1 in his heat. Today in the 3,000m final Mitch Byrne was 14th in 8.48 and Robert Murphy was 15th in 9.01. On Friday last two Club athletes competed for their Colleges at the Irish Universities Indoor Championships in Athlone. At yesterday's Irish Universities Road Relays held in Maynooth University there were several good performances from club members. Running for DCU were David Scanlon who ran 10.00 for a 2 mile leg, while Alan Danager ran 10.30 and David Danagher ran 11.10. On the 3 mile leg Matthew Horrigan ran 15.25 for DCU. Well done to all the 1,144 runners who ran in the Rathfarnham 5k today. On a calm and mild day in Rathfarnham a record number of competitors were led home by Mark Christie from Mullingar Harriers in 14.37. Mark also won the race in 2009.
