Junior Athletics Training (13-18 years olds)
Our junior athletes (13 to 18 years) prepare for both schools and club cross country championships over the months of September to January. At the end of January, the focus changes to preparation for Track and Field (T&F) events. Our junior athletes compete in both schools and Club T&F championships. We now have a thriving junior boys and girls section of the Club. Our junior athletes have been very successful in both schools and club competitions.
New Rathfarnham Athletics club members
We are a friendly club and welcome new members where training capacity allows. We are all delighted that covid rules and restrictions were relaxed further from Monday 20th September 2021. As recommended by Sports Ireland we are maintaining overarching structures and basic protective measures throughout the winter season. These include the use of COVID 19 Officers, recommending symptomatic individuals do not participate in or attend sporting activities, the ongoing promotion of good respiratory & hand hygiene along with the wearing a face coverings in relevant settings and considering indoor space densities and duration of indoor activities.
Our junior athletes train as follows:
- Tuesday 6:20PM - Tallaght AC Track.
- Thursday 6:20PM - Rathfarnham WSAF AC clubhouse in Rathfarnham Village / Spider Hill (The old court house)
- Saturday 10:45AM - Tallaght AC track or Tymon Park for x-country.
