The highlight of today's Leinster Novice and Masters Cross Country Championships Races in Dunboyne was Shane O'Neill coming second in the Men's Masters race over 6k. In torrential rain and soft underfoot conditions the course was to Shane's liking and he made up ground with every stride to claim the silver medal and gold in the M40 category. Ronan Kearns was 7th in the same race and 3rd O.35. Gerry Doyle was 1st O.50 and John McHugh was 3rd O.55.
In the Ladies Novice Race over 4k Lorraine Nolan was first home for the Club, followed by Grainne O'Connor, Aishling O'Connor and Amy Cooke to bring the team home in 6th position. Next up were the Mens Novice over 6k. First home was Robert Murphy, followed by Ciaran Alyward, David Power, Gerard Claffey, Michael Devine and Eoin Gorman to take 5th Team. In the Ladies Masters 4k race Vanessa Sallier was first home and 3rd O/40, followed by Helen French and Zoe Melling for 9th team position. In the mens Masters race over 6k Shane was 2nd, followed by Ronan Kearns 7th, Gerry Doyle 22nd, Tommie Bishop, John Farrelly, John McHugh, Terry Clarke and Eoin Murray.
