The Irish Universities Track and Field National Championships took place at the Mardyke Track in Cork on Friday and Saturday. The best performance by a Club member was by Stephen Gaffney, representing UCD, when winning bronze in the Long Jump with a jump of 6.70m and running the 4th leg on the UCD 4X100m team which took bronze as well. Well done to Jason Reid who ran a very fast 2.31.15 in today's Rotterdam Marathon. Jason finished in 46th out of over 8,000 finishers and went through the Half Marathon in 74.44. Ciaran Aylward also had a great run to finish 156th in 2.47.17 (Half marathon in 79.59). The full results are on the Rotterdam Marathon website....

Congratulations to Shane O'Neill, Paul Fleming and Ronan Kearns who won the O/35 Masters Men's title in the National Road Relays this afternoon in a time of 19.32, only two seconds outside the course record. At yesterday's BHAA Dublin City Council 4 mile road race Peter Toomey was 1st home for the Club in 21st in a time of 22.44. Next came Don O'Carroll 44th in 24.07, John McHugh 53rd in 24.35, Terry Clarke 59th in 25.01, Diarmuid Coogan 79th in 26.08, PJ Claffey 29.10 and Eoin Murray 29.42.
