The highlight of Club performances in yesterdays K Club 10k was Donna Mahon winning the ladies race and Paul McGovern home in 6th in a time of 34.00. Gerard Claffey continued his good form of late by winning the 'Chariots of Fire' run around the front concourse of Trinity College on Wednesday last. Recreating the run from the film of the same name, 2 athletes run in opposite direction around the councorse over 300m to finish at the same spot. The 4 fastest on time get to the semi-finals. Padraig McCriostail came 4th in the Conemara Marathon in a time of 2.54.16. and was the first O.40. In the Half Marathon run wilth the full marathon Ciara Hassett had a good run to come home in 1.44.05. Full results are on the Connemara Marathon website. Congratulations to everyone who braved fierce heat yesterday to compete for the club in the National 10k Road Championships, which was incorporated in the Great Ireland Run in the Phoenix Park. The tough hilly course was not one for producing pbs. In yesterdays Dublin City Council road races in St. Anne's Park Raheny we had 11 club runners. In the men's 4 mile road race Paul Fleming was 2nd. in 20.24.
