We had eight juvenilles in action today. In the boys U14 race, Tom McGrath was 15th, Ashur Fernandes 16th and Richard Keogh 16th. In the girls U16 race first home was Roisin Long in 20th position, followed by Emily Black in 21st and Flora Searberg in 22nd place with Niamh Tynan 27th. Roisin, Emily and Flora were running their first race for the club. In the U16 boys Oisin Joyce ran strongly to finish 23rd. In the Junior Boys race Jack Mc Loughlin was 12th.

At the National Juvenile T&F Championships in Tullamore on Sunday 10th July Stephen Gaffney won a bronze medal in the Boys U19 triple jump with a jump of 12.45m.David Scanlon again continued his good form and finished 6th in a highly competitive U.18 Boys 3000m in very warm & humid conditions. Well done to both athletes.

On day 1, 10th June, Ashur Fernandes and Richard Keogh qualified for the final of the U14 boys 800m final. The final was held on day 2 when both athletes ran very well in the final. In the U16 800m Andrew Long & Oisin McGrath both ran their first race for the Club and put in good performances. Sean Hayes had another great run in the U18 800m finishing 5th in 2 mins 14 seconds and was followed home by Paddy O'Donohoe. Stephen Gaffney came 6th in the U19 800m in 2 minutes 12 seconds.
David Scanlon ran a very strong race and won the U.18 3000m in 9 minutes 41 seconds . Paddy O'Donohoe was 3rd in 11 minutes 1 second (new PB) and James Vickery 4th in 11 minutes 5 seconds (new PB). Stephen Gaffney got gold in the U19 triple jump (12.53 a new PB).On Day 3 12th June, in very heavy rain David Scanlon ran another great race to finish 3rd in the U18 1500m in 4 minutes 34 seconds. Ashur and Richard ran well in the U14 1500m in their 3rd race in three days. All times are unofficial.Well done to everyone who ran in such awful weather conditions.

Graded Meeting No 4 - Juvenile athletes
We had 7 of our juvenile athletes running in the graded meeting in Irishtown on Wednesday June 1st. We saw outstanding running and three PB's were recorded by our athletes in the 3k. David Scanlon was first home in 9 mins 36.41 seconds (PB), followed by Ian Rankin in 9 mins 43.08 secs (PB), Aiden Connolly in 10 mins 4.77 secs (first time over distance) and Sean Hayes in 10 mins 21.57 secs (PB). Paddy O'Donohoe ran 11 mins 13.52 secs and James Vickery was close behind in 11 mins 15.46 secs (first time over distance). Stephen Gaffney had a strong run & finished 2nd in the D Grade 800m in 2 mins 14.54 secs. All the athletes hard work in training paid off in their fine performances. Well done to everyone.

Sean Hayes finished 9th in the Leinster Schools Senior Boys 2,000m steeplechase on Wednesday May 18th in Santry . On Saturday, Stephen Gaffney just missed out on a medal finishing 4th in the Senior Boys Triple Jump. Well done to both athletes.
