We had a busy weekend for Rathfarnham WSAF athletes with the annual Rathfarnham 5k Race being the main event on a dry but windy Sunday morning 29th September. But firstly we must express our gratitude to all who helped out beforehand, on the day, and with the cleanup afterwards. We couldn’t stage the race without the dozens of volunteers to act as stewards, staff the water station, tea/coffee/parking in Terenure College, etc. While the volunteers are mostly club members but we have some hugely supportive local residents who give up their time to support us and to them in particular we are very grateful, so thank you all! Lots of great runs by our own club athletes, in finishing order we have: Dáire Sullivan - 15:31 MS, Mathew Kane - 15:38 M35, Mark Ryan - 15:40 M45; Ryan O’Neill - 15:40 MJ, Louis McCarthy - 15:46 M40, Lee Byrne - 16:07 MS, Paul Fleming - 16:26 M45, Jonathan Hughes - 16:47 M40' Ciaran Aylward - 17:02 M40' Aisling O’Connor - 16:02 FS' Pearse Coyle - 18:27 M55; Laura Ryan - 18:50 F35, Martin Kelly - 18:55 M60, Michael Stuart - 20:10 M55, Clare Shiels - 20:13 F45, Lorraine Nolan - 20:40 F40, Sheelagh Jones - 21:06 F65, Grainne Black - 21:23 F40, Laura Mills - 21:45 FS, Deirdre O’Toole - 22:41 F50' Quentin Comerford - 23:06 M55, Catherine Kelly - 26:14 F60' Carina Cashman - 29:25 F60, Deirdre Smith - 33:32 F55 and Caolainn McCabe - 33:32 FJ.
