In tough wet and windy conditions, in which long spikes where the order of the day on a very soft and muddy underfoot course, the best juveniles in the land converged on Navan to claim honours. Rathfarnham was well represented with 18 athletes and 3 full teams competing.Well done to all who represented the club so well in a very high quality field.

Under 13 Girls : Zoie Ritchie 5th ( 2nd scorer on silver Dublin team); Rachel Lawlor 10th, Caolainn Mc Cabe 10th, Philipa Mc Glynn 14 2nd, Sofia Corcoran Kelly 157th. Team 16th.
Under 13 Boys: Ryan O’Neill 49th, Tom Quinlan 55th, Dara Mulvihill 110th, Aaron Murphy 147th, Fionn Kelly 15 3rd. Team 13th.
Under 15 Girls : Alice Hickey 10th (Silver Dublin County team ), Lucie Ritchie 36th.
Under 17 Boys : Charlie Mc Gowan 3 2nd ( Silver Dublin County, Bronze Provincial).
The Uneven Championships took place in perfect conditions in Santry Demesne. First into action in her debut championship race was Lucy O'Neill , running in Under 9 category, Lucy finished in a brilliant 8th place. Johnny Maxwell placed 4th in Boys U9. Under 11 Boys results as follows : Aiden O'Connor 3rd, Ben Mulvihill 9th, Darragh Keogh 27th, Mark Quinlan 33rd, Sean Regan 37th. Team 3rd. Under 13 Girls team placed 3rd grabbing the Bronze by one point! Well done girls , every place counts!! Results as follows Zoie Ritchie 1st, Jodie Ritchie 14th, Rachel Lawlor 18th, Caolainn Mc Cabe 41st, Philipa Mc Glynn 50th, Sofia Corcoran Kelly 57th. In the Boys U13: Ryan O’Neill 6th, Tom Quinlan 7th, Dara Mulvihill 16th, Fionn Kelly 38th, Marcus Adekoya 4 2nd and Aaron Murphy 43rd. Team 3rd. Next up was the Under 15 Girls Alice Hickey 1st, Lucie Ritchie 6th and Abbey Kelly 33rd. Under 15 Boys : Daire Sullivan 13th, Oscar Comerford 21st and Cillian Mc Cabe 31st. Our last competitor of the day was Charlie Mc Gowan who placed an excellent 6th in Boys Under 17.
The Even championships took place a couple of weeks prior to the Uneven. The venue was the excellent Abbotstown XC Course, which has recently been announced as the venue for the European Cross Country Championships in 2020, held in breezy but good underfoot conditions. Making her Championship debut was Abaigh Frain in the Under 10 girls. Callum Kelly was our sole athlete in Boys U10. Girls Under 12: Jodie Ritchie 7th, Sophie Maxwell 25th, Sarah Murphy 27th, Isabella Mc Cabe 37th and Isobel Burge 47th. Team placed 7th. Boys Under 12: Aiden O'Connor 13th, Darragh Keogh 48th, Sean Regan 57th and Rory Noblett 77th. Team 9th. There was great success in the Girls U14 for Rathfarnham, the girls came a brillant second against some very strong teams, to win the silver medal! Individual results : Alice Hickey 2nd, Zoie Ritchie 4th, Edel Mc Creery 15th, Rachel Lawlor 18th and Charlotte Burge 41st. Under 14 Boys: Ryan O’Neill 11th, Cathal Keogh 22nd and Fionn Kelly 43rd. Under 16 Boys : Daire Sullivan 23rd, Oscar Comerford 31st and Andrew Kelly 33rd. Last to compete on the day was Alex Hill, who finished 19th in a stacked Boys U18 field. Well done to all our young athletes over the course of the two days competition. Best of luck and congratulations to those athletes representing the club in the upcoming National Championships.
Now that the dust has settled after the Dublin Juvenile Championships for another year, it's time to congratulate our young athletes on their achievements. On the final day of competition, Sofia Hyland came 5th in the Girls U15 Long Jump with a best jump of 4.50m. The Girls U12 4 x 100m Relay team of Sophie Maxwell, Jodie Ritchie, Isobel Burge and Claudia Manning narrowly missed out in a place in the final, finishing 3rd in heat 3 in a time of 1:01:31. Well done to all of our young athletes!
Isabelle Doyle top of the podium in Athlone!
Dublin and the East coast woke up to a heavy snow fall on the morning of the Nationals in the AIT. That factor didn't stop our merry band of athletes making the journey to Athlone. Great results were achieved by our young guns.....
First up was Isabelle Doyle in Under 17 Girls Long Jump with a best jump of 5.11m, Isabelle won gold and became National Champion!
Next up was the sprinters! Daniel Chukwu was our representative in U14 Boys 60m, Daniel 2nd 8:16 in his heat made it through. A quicker time in the final of 8:09 placed Daniel in 6th place. Girls U15 60m saw Sophia Hyland just missing out in 3rd place in a time of 8:47. Fortune Chukwu qualified to U16 Girls 60m Final, finishing 3rd 7.98 in the fastest of the three heats. In the final, Fortune ran 7.93 to finish third and earn a well deserved bronze National medal! Fresh after her success in the Long Jump, Isabelle Doyle ran 8.01 into 2nd place and a place in the Under 17 Girls 60m Final. A gallant showing in a highly competitive field , Isabelle came 6th in a time of 8:04.
