Over the weekend, Rathfarnham's juvenile athletes where in action in the Dublin Juvenile Championships. First off on Friday in Santry was the Under 10 Girls 500m. Zoe Ritchie finished 2nd in her heat and Hannah Bury also ran. Next up was the Under 11 Girls 600m in which Lucie Ritchie and Elena Cullen put in strong performances. Alex Bury competed in the Under 12 Boys 600m and Clodagh Cullen and Sophie Ritchie ran in the Under 12 Girls 600m and Sophie qualified for Sunday's final. Isabelle Doyle ran in the Under 13 Girls 600m. In the Under 14 Girls 800m, Eilis Doyle O'Neill put in a terrific performance in her heat to qualify for Sunday's final.
On Saturday, Alannah Fasenfeld finished 4th in the High Jump. Well done to junior athletes Richard Keogh and Tom McGrath who won silver medals in the Under 17 Boys 1500m and 3000m respectively.
On Sunday, it was back to Tallaght for some outstanding action! First up was the Rathfarnham trio of Sophie Ritchie, Clodagh Cullen and Allanah Fasenfeld in the Long Jump. In the first of the day's finals, Sophie Ritchie finished a very strong 5th in the 600ml. The 800m final was next in which Eilis Boyle O'Neill performed well in a strong field. Back on track was the Under 12 trio of Sophie, Clodagh and Alannah in the 60m heats. The three girls came very close to progressing from their respective heats. In the Under 13 Boys 60m, Alex Bury stormed into the semi finals after finishing 3rd in his heat. In the Under 13 Girls 80m, Isabelle Doyle was outstanding as she finished 1st in the heats and 3rd in the semis to qualify for the final. In the final, Isabelle was just pipped into 4th place in a very close race.

On Saturday, in glorious sunshine, the Rathfarnham Under 11 Girls 4 x 100 Relay team made their championship debut. Lead by team captain Lucie Ritchie, the girls put in an impressive debut performance against some very experienced teams. This time they didn't progress beyond the heats, but the future is bright with these young athletes. Full team : Lucie Ritchie, Elena Cullen, Abbey Kelly and Kiki Needham. Well done girld! The final track And Field League meeting took place in Tallaght on Saturday. The cloudy cold conditions were a stark difference to last week's balmy weather! Rathfarnham was well represented in different age groups. Making their debut for the club was Marie Bishop (U14) and Jennifer Bishop (U11). Sophie Richie qualified for the final of the 80m (U12), Senan Delargy also qualified for the 80m (U12) final. Needless to say, there were also some very strong brave performances by our other young athletes.

The latest instalment of the Juvenile League took place on Saturday in balmy hot conditions. Performances where also hot on the track by Rathfarnham's Boys and Girls. Making her debut for Rathfarnham was Yamina Abdeladif, who put in a solid performance in the 200m.
