Well done to Connor Edwards who won the Under 13 600m at the Dublin Juvenile Indoors in Santry today. Fionn Quigley ran a very good race in the Under 14 800m.

At the Dublin Juvenile Indoor track Championships at Santry Stadium last night, Tom McGrath finished a strong second in the U.16 boys 1500m. Tom was followed by Richard Keogh who set the early pace in fourth place. Ashur Fernandes ran well in the same race, along with Oscar Egan & Ruairi O'Neill in their first track race. Daniel Martin had a very good run in the U.17 boys 1500m. Roisin Long ran a great race to finish fourth in the girls U.18 1500m. Jonathan O'Donoghoe had another great run finishing second having been pipped on the line. Donal Murphy ran well in this race also. Oisin McGrath had a good run in the U.19 1500m.

Today at Santry, Shannon Behan finished 5th in a highly competitive girls U16 800m. Niamh Tynan qualified for the final of the girls U.17 200m and finished 4th in the 800m. Tom McGrath was 4th in the boys U.16 800m & Richard Keogh 5th. Ashur Fernandes, Oscar Egan & Ruairi O'Neill also ran well in the U. 16 800m. Daniel Martin had a good run in the U.17 800m as did Jonathan O'Donoghue & Donal Murphy in the U.18 boys.

At last Wednesday's Leinster Schools Cross Country Championships in Santry, David Scanlon, in the Terenure College colours, was 10th in the Senior Boys race and qualifies for the All Ireland Schools CC Championships in Jordanstown on March 9th. Jonathan O'Donoghoe was 18th in the Intermediate Boys, also running for Terenure College. Shannon Behan was 35th in the Junior Girls race when running for St Louis High School. We had strong club representation in the West Leinster schools cross country championship held in the Pheonix Park. First off was Shannon Behan (St Louis High School) who ran a very strong race and narrowly missed out on a medal finishing 5th in the junior girls race. In the Intermediate girls, Niamh McLoughlin finished 6th and Roisin Long 9th representing Loreto Beaufort. Patrica Lyne (Our Ladies, Templeogue) was 25th in the senior girls event. Soirse Kelders & Nianh Tynan also ran.

In the junior boys Richard Keogh (Templeogue College) was 4th and Conor Murphy (Templeogue College) was 13th. In the intermediate boys Jonathan O'Donoghoe (Terenure College) in a very competive race came 6th. Oscar Egan (Drimnagh Castle) was 33rd. In the senior boys, David Scanlon (Terenure College) had another good run finishing 3rd, John Tehan Burke (Terenure College) was 7th and Oisin Joyce (Terenure College) was 33rd. Daniel Martin and Ashur Fernandes(23rd) also ran well. Some results are on the West Leinster Schools Athletics website.Donal Murphy (Gonzaga) was 32nd in the East Leinster Intermediate boys which took place in Avondale House, Rathdrum.

At todays West Leinster Schools Cross Country Championships in the Phoenix Park, in the Intermediate Girls race, Niamh Mclaughlin (Loreto Beaufort) finished in 7th position in her first cross country race. Roisin Long (Loreto Beaufort) had a great run and finished in 16th position, Niamh Tynan (Our Lady's, Templeogue) was 25th and helped her school to second position and won a silver medal and Emily Black (St McDaras Templeogue) had a fine run to finish 26th. In the senior girls race Patricia Lyne (Our Lady's Templeogue) had an outstanding run and finished in 15th position.

In the West Leinster Minor Boys race Richard Keogh (Templeogue College) had a great run to finish in 4th position, In the Intermediate Boys Oisin McGrath (St Mary's) had a great run to finish 20th, Oisin Joyce (Terenure College) was 49th and was followed home by Andrew Wall (St Mary's). In the senior boys race David Scanlon (Terenure College) had another good run to finish 5th and Sean Hayes was 18th (Terenure College) having only just recovered from injury.

In the East Leinsters Schools Cross Country in Avondale Tom McGrath (Gonzaga) was 9th in the junior boys race. In the senior boys race Ian Rankin was 8th, Mark Young 22nd, Paddy O'Donoghoe 32nd and James Vickery, all Gonzaga helped their team to finish in 4th position. It was great to see such a large contingent from our Club who competed so well.
