We had 22 athletes competing over a very tough and hilly course in Marley Park on a sunny Saturday morning. All athletes ran extremely well and gave their best on a very testing course. Many were running in a championship race for the first time.Individual medals were won by Tom McGrath (U15), Niamh McLoughlin and Roisin Long (U17), Jonathan O' Donoghoe (U17), David Scanlon and Ian Rankin (U19). The girls U17 team won bronze medals (Niamh McLoughlin, Roisin Long, Emily Black, Niamh Tynan, Ellen Le Bas). The boys U19 team also won bronze medals (David Scanlon, Ian Rankin, Paddy O'Dohonoe, Oisin McGrath and Daniel Whitaker).
 
In the girls U11, Cara Gallagher, Ellis Stapleton and Coaimhe Kelders had great runs. In the Boys U13 Dean Teite, Michael Fakinie, and Michael Famosa did some great running on the Marley hills all of who are coached by John McHugh. In the boys U15 Ashur Fernandes and Oscar Egan in his first race did some great running as did Oisin Joyce and Daniel Martin in the Boys U17.The club can be proud of all our athletes who turned out in great numbers to run. At the first day of the Dublin Juvenile T&F Championships in Santry on 8th June, Tom McGrath finished 5th in the U.15 boys 800m in 2 mins 18 secs, Richard Keogh ran 2 mins 23 secs and Ashur Fernandes ran 2 mins 27secs. In the boys U17 800m John Tehan Burke ran a very impressive 2mins 8 secs in his first race and finished 5th in a very high quality race. Emily Black came fifth in a time of 2 mins 42 secs in the girls U.17 800m and Patricia Lyne took gold in the girls U.19 800m.
At day 2 of the Championships in Tallaght Stadium pn Sat. 9th June Oisin McGrath took 3rd place in the boys U.17 3,000m in a time of 11 mins 2 secs. David Scanlon won the U.19 3,000m in a time of 9 mins 35 secs.
Day 3 of these Championships took place in Santry again on 10th June 2012. In the U.15 boys 1500m Tom McGrath finished a very strong 4th in 4 mins 44 secs, Richard Keogh was 9th in 4 mins 59 secs and Ashur Fernandes 11th in 5mins 13 secs. Emily Black had a great run in the girls U.17 1500m finishing in 5th position. In a  highly competitive boys U.17 1500m Oisin Joyce ran 5 mins 6 secs. In the U.19 boys 1500m David Scanlon finished 2nd in a time of 4 mins 24 secs. All times are unofficial.

Two WSAF athletes were competing in the Schools All Ireland Track and Field Champss. in Tullamore on Saturday. Mitchell Byrne (17) competing for Templeogue College placed 5th in the very competitive senior boys 1500m in 4.09.1 and Carla Sweeney (14) competing for St. MacDara's School won the Junior girls 800m in 2.12.49 which was less than a second off the record. Both races are up on Flow track Ireland website.

At yesterdays Leinster Schools T&F Championships in Santry, Mitchell Byrne from WSAF AC and running for Templeogue College won the Senior Boys 1,500 in a time of 4.22. In the Senior Boys Triple Jump Stephen Gaffney was 2nd, with a jump of 12.23. In the Senior Boys 5,000, David Scanlon ran very well to finish well up the field in 16.30. Stephen and David were running for Terenure College. Some results are on the AAI website. Well done lads.

Well done to Richard Keogh who won silver in the Minor Boys 1,100m in the Leinster Schools T&F Championship today while representing Templeogue College. Richard now qualifies for the schools National T&F Championship in early June.
