Helen Leonard continues her goood running form by coming home first master in the Striker BHAA 4 mile road race in Cork on 1st July. Julian Kuppler's excellent form of late continued at the IMC Meeting last night with a win in the 800m A race in a time of 1.52. He followed this up with a win in the Shot Putt with a throw of 8.65m. In the 3000m A Race Barry Minnock had a great win in yet another PB of 8.32. Michael Freely was 4th in 9.02. Great runs were recorded in the Adidas 5 mile Road Race in the Phoenix Park. First home was Paul McGovern (23rd, 27.18) followed by Turlough Conway (25th in 27.24, 3rd O.35), Willie Morris (37th, 28.15), John Farrelly (45th, 28.26, 2nd O.45), Brendan Hogan (46th 28.32, 3rd O.45) and Sean Doyle (61st 29.17). Some excellent results were achieved by our athletes at the 7th Graded meeting in Santry on 15th July 2009. In the 800m Barry Minnock set another PB by breaking the 2 minute barrier for the first time with a 1.59 and was followed closely by Paul Fleming (2.00), Stuart McClane (2.08) and Shane O'Reilly (2.21). Club results from the Dublin City Council BHAA 5k Road Race held in Ringsend Park on 15th July 2009 were 27th Brendan Hogan (17.56), 50th Terry Clarke (18.52), 65th Eoin Murray (19.25), 72nd Tony Connolly (19.31) and 82nd Philip Wright (20.02). Our Club athletes led the way the European Mountain Running Championships in Austria today. Michael Treacy led the Irish team home in the Junior Mens event in 37th. The team was 12th. Donna Mahon led the Irish ladies team home in 45th, while the team was 16th. Padraig McCriostail led over 1,700 finisher to win the Achill half marathon in a time of 1.15.53. He was closely followed by Catriona Jennings who won the women's race in 1.19.00 in her first half and was 3rd. overall. Willie Morris came home in 8th position in a time of 1.20.49. We had several great results at the Graded Meeting in Ringsend last night. Firstly Stuart McCleane set a PB for the 400m in 55.69. In the mens mile race Ian Ingram ran a PB in 4.37.94, closely followed by Derek Furness in a PB of 4.43.95 and Pierce Coyle in 5.02.
