Well done to the Rathfarnham WSAF team for taking 2nd team prize in the Gerry Farnan CC race yesterday. First home was Sean Hehir in 7th place, followed by Mark Ryan 9th, Paul Fleming 40th and Michael Freeley 49th. Raheny won the team prize. Caitriona Jennings competed in the IAAF World Half Marathon Championships in Birmingham yesterday and completed the course in 56th place in 80.47. In todays Teachers BHAA Cross Country over 4 miles Michael Freely was 3rd. in a time of 21.28, followed by Gearoid O'Connor (7th. in 21.58), Terry Clarke (32nd, 25.18), Eoin Murray (47th, 26.18), Alex Fraser (60th, 27.25) and Peter McDermott (72nd and 1st O60 in 28.45). Mark Christie from Mullingar Harriers went one better in winning today's Rathfarnham 5k. in a time of 14.22. In today's Adidas Half Marathon Donna Mahon maintained her excellent running form of late by finishing 2nd over all in the Ladies race in a time of 79.22. Caitriona Jennings continued her winning ways by winning the ladies race in the Lakes 10k today in a time of 36.27. She was followed home by Donna Mahon in 3rd Place (37.07), Ashling Tohill (47.07) and Emma Allott (51.42).
