Our first Club man home in the Grant Thornton 10k road race was Ronan Kearns 4thn in 34.47. Times were slow on a very windy and hilly Firhouse course. Sean Hehir achieved his life long ambition today by taking his first national senior title in winning the National Half Marathon in Waterford in a time of 65.24 which was also a PB. Brian Maher Kilkenny was 2nd in 66.40 and Alan O'Shea, Bantry was 3rd in 66.50. Eoin Flynn capped of a great weekend for the Club by winning the 5k run in Dublin Docklands in 15.51, which shows he is rapidly getting back to form. This 5k Run was organised for Action Breast Cancer who had a series of 5k runs around the country. Full results are in Monday's Irish Independent 5th Sept.. Mick Bolger completed the Ironman Triathlon in Galway last Sunday in 42nd. in a time of 4.37. This qualifies Mick for next year's World Ironman Triathlon Championships in Las Vegas.
