At todays Leinster Masters and Novice Championships on the shores of Lough Ennell, Belvedere Park, Mullingar we had 20 Club members running up and down some very testing hills. Congratulations to Eoin Flynn on the birth of new baby Liam recently in Grand Canaria. Eoin also has had some time for training in his adopted home where last Sunday he won a 7.2k Cross Country race called the “Laguna de Vallesco” over a dry and dusty course. This race is a new 5k on the racing calendar and was organised by the RacePix 365 website to celebrate their 3rd anniversary. Over a flat 3 lap course around NUI Maynooth College Greg Byrne was first home for the Club in 17.25 and in 13th position. Well done to Brian Coleman who ran the Amsterdam Marathon yesterday in a time of 2.39.29. Clonliffe Harriers' Mark Kenneally was the first Irish athlete to score a place on the Olympic marathon squad with his 2.13.55 finsihing time, over a minute inside the A standard.
