Congratulations to Stephen Gaffney who won the Under 23 long jump at the Woodie’s DIY Irish Junior and U23 championships in Tullamore today. Stephen jumped a PB of 7.01m to pick up the gold, a big improvement on his previous best of 6.83 earlier in the month. At last nights Graded Meeting in Tallaght, Louis McCarthy ran 5.05 in the 1,500m. Louis was followed by Paul Stephenson 4.08, Alan Danagher 4.12, Kieran Aylward 4.15, Robert Murphy 4.21, Jonathan Hughes 4.28, Pearse Coyle 4.41 and Peter Toomey 4.46. At last Tuesday's IPA BHAA 5k trail Race over 5k in the Phoenix Park Michael Freeley was 5th Clubman home in 16.54.
