Congratulations to Stephen Gaffney who won the Under 23 long jump at the Woodie’s DIY Irish Junior and U23 championships in Tullamore today. Stephen jumped a PB of 7.01m to pick up the gold, a big improvement on his previous best of 6.83 earlier in the month. Mitchell Byrne was a close second in the Junior 1500m in an excellent time of 4.05.97, and David Scanlon was 4th in the Junior 5000m in 16.55.66. Mitchell and David also scored bronze in the 4 x 400m relay, with team mates Lawrence Boran and András Kriván. Well done to all. Provisional results are available on the AAI website.
