Great Ireland Run / AAI National 10km Championships: In the Phoenix Park, Rathfarnham AC was very well represented in all races, with green singlets appearing all over the course. Conditions were tough, with a strong easterly wind, making the easier first half a bit trickier, but helping on the homeward leg back through the s-bends. The senior women's team (Derval, Donna, Clare, Valerie) came 3rd, with the men's senior team finishing 2nd overall (Eoghan, Louis, Paul S, Brian F), with final results on AAI website on Monday. Performance of the weekend goes to Shane O'Neill who ran a super time of 2:35:35 at the Rotterdam Marathon, finishing 111th out of 12,000 runners. Denis Daly broke the 3 hour (sound) barrier in the Rotterdam Marathon in 2:59:46. He's been chipping away at this number, so great to see Denis get the reward for his hard work.
