There was no doubting it was an action-packed day at the GloHealth Intermediate, Masters, Juvenile B and Inter County Relay Cross Country Championships in Dundalk IT today (January 24).
With a big race card, it was the Masters who stole the show with massive entries in both races (over 200 per race). The Master Men's team took 2nd place, led home by Shane O'Neill in 5th overall (2nd M40). Next home Paul Fleming 12th, Ronan Kearns 39th and Brian Furey 40th. The Masters M50 team also finished in the medals, with 3rd place. Paul Moran, Joe Casey, Tommy Bishop and John Farrelly. Other finishers include Denis Everett, Tom Cuddy, John McHugh.
The Master Women's teams were strongly represented in all age groups. F40 team: Donna Mahon 5th, Helen French, Kathleen Curran, Sue Ryan. F45: Vanessa Sallier, Zoe Melling. F50: Jackie Sullivan.
The Intermediate Women's team finished with 3 runners: Clare Sullivan 16th, Valerie Cole 29th, Aisling O'Connor 41st. The Intermediate Men only had 2 finishers: David Power 18th and Ger Stephenson 84th.
