On Wednesday last 26th August, club athletes joined the New Ireland Assurance staff to officially launch this year's New Ireland Rathfarnham 5k in College Park. Well done to Sean Hehir who won the Tinyrland 4 mile Road Race yesterday in 19.25. Maria Dolan ran 24.59 in the same race and was 2nd F45. Full results are on the Red Tag timing website. At yesterday's Frank Duffy 10 mile road race in the Phoenix Park there were 15 athletes competing from the club. The highlight on Day 1, Saturday, of the National Track and Field Championships in Santry Stadium was the men's 10,000m Silver team medal performance. First home for the Club was Sean Hehir in 4th place in a time of 30.25. Sean was followed by Louis McCarthy 9th in 32.07 and Matthew Horrigan 16th in 33.29 to make up the siver medal team. At last Wednesday's Dublin Athletics Board Graded Track meeting in Tallaght we had some notable performances from Club athletes. In the Distance Medley Relay (DMR), sponsored by Citytrain over 800m/400m/1,200m/1,600m the Rathfarnham 1 team was third in a time of 10.29, with Ennis AC 1st and Raheny AC 2nd. At the Liberties 6k Road race on Thursday night last, run in support of St. James's Hospital, we had 5 runners from the Club. At last Wednesday's Graded track meeting in Santry we had some fine performances from our athletes. In the 100m Daryl Fanagan ran 12.57.
