At a very wet and windy Santry track on Wednesday last Gerard Claffey had a gutsy run in the 800m B Grade to come home second in 2.05. Pearse Coyle ran 2.16 in his Grade. Well done to both. Well done to our senior men's team of Eoin Flynn, Paul Fleming, Barry Minnock and Sean Hehir who won the National Road relays title in Raheny today, making it team gold for the second week running. Well done to Gerard Claffey who ran 2.03 in the 800m for the Trinity College team, at the Irish Universities T&F Championships in Athlone on Friday. Gerard also ran a fast time of around 53 seconds while completing a leg of the 4X400m relay race. Full results to follow on the IUAA website....

  What a great day for Rathfarnham WSAF AC with Caitriona Jennings running a time of 2.36.11 and the A qualifying standard for this year's Olympics in today's Rotterdam Marathon. Caitriona is now the 2nd fastest of the 4 Irish qualifiers to date for the Marathon. A report is on the AAI website. Also in Rotterdam today Turlough Conway ran 2.35...

On Good Friday last Brian Furey was 5th in the Feet First 5 mile Road Race around the streets of  Killarney. Brian's time was 27.53 in a race won by Sean Connolly from Tallaght in 24.41. Helen Leonard, running well for the third week in a row, was 3rd lady home and 32nd overall in a fast 31.29. Aoife O'Connor was 4th lady home and 34th overall...
