Rathfarnham athletes dominated the front of the field in the Le Chéile 5k road race in Leixlip this morning, with Paul Fleming winning the race in a time of 15.50 and Eoin Flynn taking second place in 16.03. Highlights from the second Graded meeting at Ringsend on Wednesday was Sean Hehir's 5th place in the Dublin Championship 10,000m in a PB of 30.32. In the ladies 1,500m Maria Dolan ran 5.22, while in the men's 1,500m Willie Morris ran 4.24 and Terry McConnon ran 4.40. Full results are on the Dublin Athletic Board website. Congratulations to Diarmuid Coogan who completed the Limerick Marathon last Sunday in a time of 3.09.22, finishing 34th overall. We had very good representation at the Leinster Novice/Masters Road Championships in Gowran on Monday. In blustery conditions first off were the novice ladies with good performances from Aisling Tohill and Lorraine Nolan. Gerard Claffey had a good run in the heats of the 800m on a windy Friday night on the Mary Peters track and clocked 2.05 for his efforts. He also ran the 3rd leg of the 4X400m relay for Trinity College on Saturday to bring his team home in 4th place, just outside the medals. Full results and times are posted on the IUAA website.
