At last Wednesdays Graded meeting which doubled up as the Dublin T&F Championships we had some great performances from the Club. In the Mens 1,500m Mitchell Byrne (WSAF AC) ran 4.02, closely followed by Paul Fleming (4.03), Louis McCarthy (4.05), Pearse Coyle (4.27) and John McCabe (4.56). At last night's Docklands 8k Run Brian Furey was 2nd in 27.04. Catherine Devitt was 2nd lady home in 30.17 (24th overall), Maura Kearns ran 31.27, Lorraine Nolan 33.07, Valerie McGuinness 33.22 and Ciara Hassett 33.35. At yesterdays Tommy Lynam Memorial Mid Summer's Day 5k road race in St. Anne's Park, Raheny Maria Dolan was first lady home in 18.47 (41st overall), just missing out on bettering her 5k PB which she sert a week ago. We had some great results from Club members at recent IMRA events. On Sunday 3rd June Brian Fury won the Carrauntoohil Trail Run. Brian followed up that great run by coming 4th in the European trials last Sat. 9th June in Glendalough. Turlough Conway was 15th in the same race. Eoin Flynn is training and racing very well since his return to Gran Canaria. On Sunday last he set a big PB for 10k on the road when clocking 30.53 in the Canary Islands 10k road championships. Eoin led the race out for the whole race but got pipped in the sprint at the end, missing out on the win by a second only. He was delighted with the result...
