Sean Hehir won the Mick Murphy 4 mile road race in Ferns, Co Wexford, this evening in a course record of 19.25. Sean is back to his best form and broke the record by 13 seconds on a hilly course and in windy conditions, which augers well for his Dublin Marathon debut. At today's Dublin Half Marathon in the Phoenix Park Jason Reid was first home for the Club in 5th in a time of 73.42, Brian Furey was 6th in 74.34, Willie Morris (61st in 80.04), Peter Toomey (81.11), Colm Murray (81.12), Terry Clarke (88.10), Greg Byrne (89.44, pacemaker), Helen French (97.27) and Ann Franch (110.58). At today's BHAA 'Finding the Run of Ourselves' 10 k road race in Firhouse Willie Morris was first home for the Club in 8th place in 36.28, followed by John Farrelly 15th in 37.14, Joe Casey 23rd in 38.10, Peter Toomey 24th in 38.13, Michael Devine 36th in 40.06 and Aisling Tohill (46.59). At last Thursday's Grant Thornton 5k team challenge around the streets of Dublin City Centre we had six Club members running for their workplaces.
