Start of Rathfarnham 5k 2023 with Club athletes to the front.

With 997 finishers out of 1,300 entries, the Club had a record entry of 24 finishers at the Rathfarnham 5k on Sunday 24th September. First home was David Scanlon 3rd in 14.38, followed by Mitchell Byrne 5th in 14.48. Next came our super Juniors Jared Murray 26th in 15.47 and Ryan O’Neill 30th in 15.51. Paul Fleming ran 16.35 and was first in M45 category. Carla Sweeney was 1st woman home for the Club in 16.38 and was 4th woman home. Ciaran Awylard ran 17.02, Jonathan Hughes ran 17.26, David Sato (Junior) ran 17.31, Aiden O’Connor 17.35 and David Reedy 17.47. They were followed by super Juniors Clara Kinsella in 17.58 and Edel McCreery in 18.02. Edwin Keville ran 18.16 and was first in M55 and was followed by Aisling O’Connor 18.22, Peter Toomey 18.45, Alice Hickey (Junior) 19.16, Barry Mulvhill 20.10, Daire Sullivan 21.49, Bernard Murray 22.53, Niamh Hickey 23.54, Paul O’Keeffe 24.00, Quentin Comerford 25.13 and Linda Lynch 25.33.

The men’s team won and comprised David, Mitchell, Jared and Ryan. The women’s team were second and was made up by Carla, Clara Edel and Aisling. Clara was also third Junior.

In the Dublin 5k Road Championships our senior team won gold and our M35+ team won bronze. The women’s team won silver. There were also several senior and age category individual medals e.g. David won Dublin Silver and Mitchell won Dublin Bronze medal. The full results are on the Myrunresults website.
