Under 19 and Junior Girls Team

At the Dublin Cross Country Championships on the City West Campus Course on Sunday 6th Nov., our Juvenile Runners took pride of place and brought home many medals. In the Under 11 Boys we had Theo McGouran and Euan O’Neill and in the Under 11 Girls Louise Crinion and Laoise Meaney ran well. In the Under 13 Girls we had Lucy O’Neill, Ellie Oldrey, Winnie Comerford and Rachael Mulligan and Fionan O’Keefe ran in the Under 13 Boys race. Aiden O’Connor and Fionn Crinion ran for the Under 15 Boys and Neimh Ryan ran in the Under 15 Girls race. At Under 17 we had Zoe Richie, Jodie Richie, Sara Murphy, Rachael Lawlor, Ciara Murphy and Caolainn McCabe, while Ryan O’Neill and Charlie Morris ran in the Under 17 Boys race. In the Under 19 and Junior race Edel McCreery, Alice Hickey and Laura Mills ran well and Jared Murray ran in the Boys Under 19 race. The full results are on the Dublin Athletics website. Those that finished in the first 12 in their respective races will go on to represent the Club at the All-Ireland Cross Country Championships later in the year.

In the Senior Ladies race over 8k Carla Sweeney finished 8th and Aisling O’Connor 18th. In the Senior Men’s race over 10k Mitchel Byrne was first home in 6th, followed by David Scanlon 10th, Paul Stephenson 19th, David Power 23rd, Alexey Marchenko 30th and Ciaran Aylward (38th). The men’s team just missed out on the prizes in finishing 4th on 58 points, one point behind DSD on 57.
