The National Juvenile Indoor Championships 2022 were held over two days on the 19th and 20th of March at the TUS arena , Athlone.

We had a small team of Rathfarnham WSAF AC Athletes running with some competing at this level for the first time so well done to all and it was great to see the progress everybody is making.
Ellie Oldrey had a great run to bring home the Bronze medal in the 60 metres sprint on Saturday and then followed that up with a brilliant silver medal in the 60 metres hurdles on Sunday. Abaigh Frain also had a very good 60 metre hurdles heat.
Lucie Richie went in both the U19 800 metres and 1500 metres and ran very well in both finals.
Aidan Flanagan and Soran Doyle both ran in the U14 800 metres heats just missing out on places in the final.
 
Cillian McCabe finished just missed out on a medal coming 4th in the 400m final in a time of 52.02. He then went on to run a speedy 9.40 seconds in the 60 metres hurdles final. Tom O'Regan ran an even faster 9.18 to finish 7th place in what was a very competitive final.
