It was a busy racing period for many Club members over the weekend. On Saturday 17th October Louis McCarthy won the Marlay Park 5k Run when setting a fastest time of 15.34 on the new course. Louis was followed by Brian Furey 3rd in 16.55 and Greg Byrne 5th in 17.30. The full results are onthe Marlay Park Run website.
Also on Saturday at the Teachers BHAA Cross Country races we had 14 runners from the Club. In the men's 4 mile race Jonathan Hughes was 14th in 22.52, Jonathan was followed by Peter Toomey 24th in 23.40, Pearse Coyle 33rd in 24.18, Neil Skelton 39th in 24.38, John McHugh 26.17, Tom Cuddy 26.44, Daniel Keogh 27.00, Michael Devine 27.08 and Eric Cullen 27.29. In the Ladies 2 mile race Vanessa Sallier was 14th in 14.29, followed by Miriam McCormack 29th in 15.30, Suzanne Ryan 30th in 15.31, Zoe Melling 31st in 15.33 and Aisling Tohill 41st in 16.12. On Sunday 18th October at the Gerry Farnhan Open Cross Country races we had 6 running from the Club. In the men's 8k race David Scanlon was 33rd in 28.13 and Paul Fleming was 41st in 28.36. In the ladies 5k race Maria Dolan was 26th and 2nd W45 in 20.07 and Donna Mahon 38th. in 20.38 Sean Doyle also ran in the 5k race and finished 1st M55 in 20.22. Finally on Sunday Denis Everett ran a Personal Best of 2.59.14 when running in the Amsterdam Marathon. Read his splits at Amsterdam Marathon 2015 Results.
