Eoin Flynn ran the race of his life today to come third and take the Bronze medal in the National Senior Inter Club Cross Country Championships in Tullamore today. Eoin covered the 12k lap in 38.56 and along with Paul Stephenson (18th in 40.58), Bary Minnock (19th in 41.00) and Shane O'Neill (40th in 42.45) lead the Club to the Bronze medal position. Eoin led out the first lap of 6 and kept with the leaders all the way. A group of 3 including Sergio Cibanu, Clonliffe and Joe McAlister, St. Malachys Belfast (Previous Rathfarnham 5k Winner) broke away with Sergio finishing first and Joe second. Also helping out the team were Louis McCarthy (42nd in 42.47), David Power (45th, 43.05), Jonathan Hughes (55th, 43.49), Brian Furey (57th, 43.51) and Matthew Horrigan (58th, 44.00). In the Ladies race Clare Sullivan, our Ladies Captain, led the team home over the 8k course in 42nd in a time of 33.43. Clare was followed by Valerie McGuinness (44th, 33.49) and Vanessa Sallier (52nd, 35.11). Mitchell Burne WSAF AC came fourth in the Junior Men's race. Mitchell covered the 6k course in 20.02 and just missed out on the Bronze medal by 9 seconds.
