Caitriona Jennings showed great courage and bravery to run through the pain barrier to complete yesterday's Olympic marathon in London. Cheered on by a group of vocal supporters from the Club, from around Dublin and Donegal, Caitriona set off well and kept in contact with the bunch up to half way. Unfortunately a plantar faciitis injury she had, came back and slowed her progress. Never the less she battled on to finished the course. We would like to commend Caitriona for her herculean efforts yesterday, which embodied the Olympic spirit. We thank you for the great honour and joy you have brought to the Club as its first Olympian and sets the standard we all aspire to. Pictures of Caitriona and all her supporters are in the Gallery.
