This adventure event started at 12.00 midnight on Friday 13th Jan. and finished on Saturday morning. It is an arduous trek from Dublin Castle in the city centre to the Glenmalure Valley, tracing the escape route of Art O Neill and Red Hugh O Donnell which took place on this date and time in 1592. This event involves a 55Km trek with a mixture of tarmac road out via Tallaght and open mountain running, along with navigating your way from Dublin Castle through to Glenmalure Valley in the heart of Wicklow. Greg Byrne had a brilliant run in the event to come home in third place in a time of 5.38.36. Adrian Tucker also took up the challenge and finished 8th in a time of 6.10.40, which was well up on his time in last year's race through through the snow. Frank McIntyre, who ran with us last year, finished 44th in 8.24.48, Paul Kelders finished 45th in 8.27.47 with his brother Neil along side him. The event was won by Eoin Keith in 5.26.05.
