Mick Bolger completed his first Ironman triathlon in Nice last Sunday in a time of 11 hours 57 mins., in what must be a first for the Club. Micks exertions consisted of swimming a 2.4 miles (3.8km) sea swim which he did in 1hr 25mins., then straight into a 112 mile (180km) gruelling cycle over the Alps which he completed in 6h 19m, following into a full marathon which he ran in 3.54.
