The adventure event took place on Jan 7th 2011 starting 12.00 midnight on Friday 7th and finishing in the early hours of Saturday 8th. Jan. For the 2nd time in 4 days Sean Hehir finished 2nd in a road race. This time it was the Fields of Athenry 10k when he finished 2nd to Gerry Ryan from Craughwell AC in a time of 31.41. Louis McCarthy continued his good form by coming 5th in the Tom Brennan 5k road race in the Phoenix Park on Sat. 1st January 2011 in a time of 16.02. We had only 3 competitors in yesterday's rescheduled Jingle Bells 5k road race, sponsored by Donore Harriers. Paul Fleming finished in 6th place in a time of 15.31 and was also first over 35. Well done to Jack Mcloughin who ran himself to a standstill to finish in 37th place in the Junior Inter Counties Cross Country Championships in Grancha Park, Derry on Sunday, over a very difficult 6k snow covered course.
