There was a good turn out for the race that claims to be the longest running 10k in Ireland. In its 37th edition there were some great runs by Rathfarnham WSAF athletes. The Irish Runner 5 mile took place on Saturday 18th June 2017 in the Phoenix Park. As most of you know we had two athletes from the club qualify for the 2017 CSIT World Sports Games Riga, Latvia and they certainly performed well. At the Irish Milers Club GV Ryan meeting on 10th June Carla Sweeney won the women's 1500m in a time of 4:27.99. In the 800m B race Lee Byrne finished 1st in a time of 1:55.29. Donagh Powell ended up winning the pictured sprint to come 5th in a time of 16:54 in the Dan Byrne 5k Trail Race in Doneraile Wildlife Park near his home town of Mallow.
