Well done to all Club athletes who ran in today's Lucan 5k. road race on a very windy course. Sean Hehir had the run of his life today by coming in 22nd. in the Gothenborg Half Marathon in a time of 66.50. This was a magnificant achievement for Sean in his first half marathon, which was one of the biggest in the world with over 70,000 runners. Sean was also the second non-African finisher in the race. At the Graded meeting in Ringsend last Wednesday we had a very strong team running. In the men's mile Louis McCarthy ran 4.32, Brian O'Donoghue 4.42, David Scanlon 4.52, Ian Rankin 4.55, Aiden Connolly 4.55, Eugene Coakley 4.56, Paddy O'Donoghue 5.41. We had 8 club athletes in last Tuesday's ESB 5k Beach Race. First home was Willie Morris 11th, followed by Colm Murray 16th, Terry McConnon 23rd, Brendan Hogan 28th, Andy Davis 68th, Eoin Murray 70th, Vanessa Sallier 71st and 5th lady and Ciara Hassett 123rd.
