Best of luck to everyone competing over the weekend, which is shaping up to be an eventful one for Rathfarnham athletes. In a welcome return to the club Caitriona Jennings will be aiming for a marathon PB in Rotterdam on Sunday, and she will have good company with Shane O’Neill, Turlough Conway, Gerry Doyle and Joe Casey joining her on the line at 9.30am Irish time. Conditions are looking good for the day, with a temperate 10 degrees forecast. Later on Sunday the road championship season kicks off with the National 10k in the Phoenix Park, and the club will be represented by strong teams in all categories. The programme starts with Junior races from 11.15am, with the main race scheduled for 1.30pm. At 7.30am Adrian Tucker will provide a warm-up for the day with a solo effort over the four legs of the inaugural 39k Wicklow Glacier Lakes mountain run.
