Sean Hehir finished off the best year of his athletic career by winning the Club Athlete of the Year award and the Tom O'Driscoll trophy at out awards cermony in The Castle last night. Sean won the National Half Marathon title and led the Club team to Senior Gold in the race. He was also 3rd in the National 10k Senior track championships in Santry in July and again lead the Club team home to win the Gold Medal. Barry Minnock and Mark Ryan were also on these two winning teams. Other award winners last night were in the Senior Men category (Kevin Bolger, Paul Fleming, Niall Sommers, Eoin Flynn, Louis McCarthy, Brian Furey, Barry Minnock, Mark Ryan), Senior Ladies (Donna Mahon, Eilis Connery, Catherine Devitt), Masters Men (John Brennan, Pearse Coyle, Stuart McClean) and Masters Ladies (Helen Ingram). Well done to all.

Sean did not let last nights partying go to his head because at Cooraclare today, he easily won the Clare Senior Cross Country Championships from Rory Chesser and Michael Shannon. Details to follow.
