2017 Reports

The Autumn Open Cross Country Championships were held at the National Sports Campus, Abbotstown on 22^nd October.

The results on the day were David Scanlon 28^th, Colm Moran 55^th, Neil Skelton 61^st in the men’s race and on her own, Donna Mahon 25th in the women’s race. Well done guys.

The 2017 Dublin Novice Cross Country Championships was held in the Phoenix Park on October 1^st. The women’s team finished just outside the medals in 4^th overall. Individual results were Carla Sweeney 4^th, Lorraine Nolan 14^th, Suzanne Ryan 24^th, Aisling O’Connor 31^st and Catríona Dowling 34^th.

In the men’s race Neil Skelton was 39^th, Oisín Boland 64^th and Shane Grehan 66^th.

Well done to all participants

Well done to all 758 finishers of yesterday's Rathfarnham 5k which took place on a mild calm Rathfarnham morning, which was excellent running conditions. There was over 900 entries in total. First home was Brian Maher in 14.44 and first lady was Ciara Durkin, Skerries AC in 16.46. There was some excellent Club results with the mens team winning the over all team award which included Paul Stephenson 6th in 15.17, David Scanlon 9th in 15.20 and Mark Ryan 14th in 15.26. The Ladies team were third and included Lynne Hennessy 18.25, Louise Gaffney 19.25 and Suzanne Ryan 20.00. The full results are on the Myrunresults website. Photos of all who ran are on our Facebook site at Rathfarnham5kRun. There was also some excellent races for Boys and Girls Under 12, 14 and 16 with some fine Club performances. Congratulations to Clare Sullivan on winning the women’s 10k Great Pink Run in the phoenix Park on Saturday 9^th September. With over 6000 runners this is a huge event in aid of Breast Cancer Ireland.
