We had some fantastic results from our talented Rathfarnham WSAF AC athletes at this year’s Juvenile track and field championships.

A total of six medals were brought home over the three weekends.

On the first Weekend, Aidan’O O’Connor, Edel McCreery and Zoie Richie all ran the 800 metres with Zoie winning a silver medal in the U/16 age group. Daire Sullivan followed on in the U/18 3000m steeplechase and had a great race to bring home the Bronze medal.

On the Sunday it was the turn of the 3000m races where Rachael Lawlor (U/16 ) and Laura Mills (U/19) both ran very well. We also had the U/14 80m sprint where Daragh Keogh ran a speedy time.

Ellie Oldrey placed 3rd in the U/12 long jump to bring home the bronze medal with a great jump of 4.08 metres.

On the second weekend we had the U/16 1500m race where Zoie Richie ran very well to place 5th. Then it was the turn of the sprint hurdlers. Sofia Hyland ran well in the U/18 age group and Tom O’Regan ran brilliantly to win the gold medal In the U/16 race. Next up it was the U/18 400 metre race where Billy Conroy Roche ran a great race to claim the silver medal.

And so on to the last weekend, the 21st of August. Ewen Kennady ran very well in the U/13 600 m in a very competitive race. L ast but not least, Ellie Oldrey ran again brilliantly to win the silver medal in the U/12 60m sprint.
