Clodagh Cullen Girls U16 60m Hurdles and Isabelle Doyle Girls U17 200m.

Sunday 25th March Nationals

On day 3 of the national juvenile championships in Athlone AIT, Rathfarnham had a small but quality field of athletes competing. Sophie Maxwell was first into the thick of the action in the U13 girls long jump. Scoring three decent jumps for her debut appearance in the national championships. Next up was Isabelle Doyle in the heats of the 200m running a time 26:39,     She qualified in 2nd place in her heat to qualify for the final. In a high standard final Isabelle ran from lane 2. In a dramatic last 20 meters, Isabelle grabbed third on the final bend and held onto it till she crossed the finish line in 26:24 for Bronze. Our sole boy representative Dara Mulvihill took part in two disciplines in the U13 boys long jump and 60m hurdles. In a stacked girls U16 60m hurdles field, Clodagh Cullen put in a very brave performance  in her heat.  Aoife Murphy ran in the Girls U19 800m. Well done to all our young athletes on all qualifying to represent Rathfarnham at National level.
