AAI National Track and Field Championships Morton Stadium 25th-27th June 2021

The highlight of the AAI National Track and Field Championships for Rathfarnham WSAF AC was Stephen Gaffney winning the SiIver Medal in the 100m in 10.50 (+1.7m/s) It ended up as a two horse race with Israel OLATUNDE catching Stephen on the line to win by one hundredth of a second, denying Stephen a second title in a row!

Carla Sweeney had a great performance to come 5 ^th in the women’s 1500m final in a time of 4:24.85.

Mitchel Byrne had a fabulous run to come 6 ^th in the men’s 5000m in 14:24.76. This is a PB for him but more importantly a NEW CLUB RECORD!! Well done Mitchell!!

Ever improving Dave Scanlon was 8th 10000 final in a new PB of 31:34.52.

Louise Gaffney toughed out a good performance of 4:58.72 in the women’s 1500m heats.

Well done to everybody who took part and hopefully we will see more Rathfarnham athletes entering next year.
