Congratulations to Edwin Keville on coming 4th in the Strawberry Half Marathon in Wexford on Sunday 28th May. A fantastic time of 79:41 is a sure sign that this young athlete is on the up again!
Just a few athletes ventured to the Leinster Track and Field Championships in Tullamore this year. The highlight of the day was Louis McCarthy winning gold in the 5000m Senior Men with Brian Fury coming in 3rd to take the bronze medal. Lynne Hennessey had a good run in the Senior Women 3000m, winning the bronze medal in a time of 10:58.21.
Terry Clark won double gold in the 200m and 400m M60, running 33.35s and 72.85s respectively. Tom Cuddy continued to hoover up medals by winning silver in the M55 800m in a time of 2:34.16. Well done everybody.
Paul Stephenson came an excellent 6th place in the 2017 Cork City Marathon on Sunday 4th June. He had a great time of 2:33:29 for what is a tough course. Well done Paul, more to come we suspect!
Congratulations to Greg Byrne on winning the 2017 Ticknock Tick Tock 12 hour endurance trail race organised by IMRA. Covering 75km and with 2400m of climbing this was not a race for the faint hearted. With no watches or pacers allowed and going different directions on a circuit, the lead ebbed and flowed with Greg finally emerging the victor at the finish line. The photo is from IMRA.
