First across the line for Rathfarnham WSAF AC was Barry Minnock in a nicely paced 75:35 to come 16th overall and 5th M40. Peter o'Farrell ran 79:26. Tom Cuddy ran 83:55 and was 2nd M50 and Orla McEvoy was 10th senior woman home in 1:39:19. Well done to all who took part.
Well done to Paul Moran who was 1st M50 and 15th overall in the St.Coca's AC 10mile road race in Kilcock on Sunday 19th August. He ran an excellent time of 58:12 in cognito in his Garda AC gear!
We had two medallists in the National Masters track and Field Championships 2018 in Tullamore on Saturday August 18th. Barry Minnock struck gold in the M40 5000m in a time of 15:54 and Ronan Kearns got silver in the M40 800m in 2:06. Well done to both of you. And well done also to Pearse Coyle who had a fine run to come 5th in the M50 1500m in 4:56. The two happy medalists pictured above!
Rathfarnham WSAF AC’s Sean Hehir had a great run to finish 25th in the European Marathon Championships 2018 on August 12th in Berlin. He ran 2:18:58 in hot conditions to be the 3rd Irishman home and part of the Irish team who finished 6th overall, the best result ever by an Irish team in a European Championships marathon. The whole club is delighted and inspired with his great performance particularly the way he has come back fighting after illness denied him on delivering to his full potential in the World Championships last year. Onwards and upwards Sean! Oh, and we still recognised you in the Dave Wottle hat!!
