Congratulations to everyone who represented the club in the National Half Marathon championships in Athenry today. Five Rathfarnham teams competed in the race, which was held on a hilly multi-lap course in hot muggy weather, and there were some impressive performances despite the tough conditions. Sean Hehir was first home from the Club in 3rd position in a time of 67.05, and led his teammates Louis McCarthy (20th in 72.53) and Brian Furey (21st in 72.55) to team bronze. Maria Dolan continued her run of PBs with an outstanding time of 87.38, scoring a silver medal in the F40 category and masters team bronze along with teammates Zoe Melling (96.38) and Vanessa Sallier (98.09). The M50 team of Terry Clarke (88.59), Tommy Bishop (85.44) and Sean Doyle (86.29) were second, with Tommy winnining individual silver in the M50 category. Paul Moran had a great race to win individual gold in the M45 category in 75.45, supported by his M40 teammates John Farrelly (82.50) and Mick Bolger (86.18).  Other athletes who finished included our senior women's team of Lorraine Nolan (94.13), Ciara Hassett (95.00) and Aisling Tohill (106.39),  Paul Stephenson (74.11), Paul Fleming (75.40), Ciaran Alyward (79.27), Greg Byrne (80.44) and John Hogan.
