Rathfarnham WSAF AC’s Mitchel Byrne won a super bronze medal in the 2018 National Novice Cross Country Championships on Saturday 15th December. It was a wet and windy day that suited the purest cross country runners at the Navan venue. Bobby Murphy finished in 11th position and the men’s team had a very strong performance coming 5th overall, with David Power and Lee Byrne the other scorers and supported by Ciaran Aylward, Neil Skelton and Gael Hernandez. Mitchel and Bobby both also won silver county medals.
The ladies team of Louise Gaffney, Sinead Murray, Clare Sullivan and Sue Ryan also ran well to come 5th overall. Well done to everybody who competed.
