Well done to the large gang of Rathfarnham athletes who represented the club at the Tallaght AC 5k yesterday, which incorporated the Dublin Novice Championships and saw a clean sweep of wins for our women’s senior and novice teams. Clare Sullivan was first female overall in a great time of 18.45, followed by Donna Mahon (3rd overall and 1st F40 in 18.54), Valerie Cole (4th overall and second novice in 19.22), Lynne Hennessy (5th overall and 3rd novice in 19.27), Vanessa Sallier (1st F45 category in 20.27),Aisling O’Connor (4th novice in 20.48), Suzanne Ryan (21.05), Alyson Caraher (21.23), Bernadette Crowley (22.07), Miriam McCormack (22.27), Zoe Melling (22.41), Laura Flynn (23.36), Jackie Kingston (26.13), Roisin Kelly (27.28), Sandra Redmond (27.35), and Emma Bennett (28.27). Rosin, Sandra and Emma were all running their debut race for the club. There were some impressive performances from our male athletes too, with Ronan Kearns 4th overall and 1st in the M35 category in 16.20, followed by Aaron Browne (11th overall and third novice in 17.06), Greg Byrne (15th in 17.18), Paul Fleming (1st M40 in 17.22), Michael Murphy (17.58), Neil Skelton (18.04), Tom Cuddy (33rd M50 in 18.38), Ger Stephenson (19.40), Derek Bain (20.04), Eric Cullen (20.07), Oisin Boland (20.51), Eamon Tierney (21.33) and PJ Claffey (24.26).
