Congratulations to the athletes who represented the club at the GloHealth National Senior Indoors in Athlone this weekend. In Day 1 of the championships yesterday, Ronan Kearns was 7th in his 800m heat in a time of 2.05.11 and Michael Dowling was 2nd in his 1500m heat in 3.55.23, qualifying him for today’s final in which he finished 6th in 3.57.62. Stephen Gaffney qualified for the 60m final after finishing second in his heat in a time of 7:06 on Saturday and first in his semi final in a time of 6:96 this morning. In this evenings final, Stephen narrowly missed out on a medal finishing forth in a time of 6.93. Also in today’s action, Robert Murphy finished 3rd in the first of two 3000m heats in a time of 9.02.68. Well done to all. Full results are on the AAI website.
