Congratulations to everyone who competed in the Dublin Masters Cross Country Championships in St. Anne’s Park yesterday, which attracted record fields for both races with 112 women and 216 men finishing. First up was the women’s 3k race, in which Maria Dolan was 6th overall and winner of the F45 category in a time of 11.25. She was followed by Vanessa Sallier (15th in 11.52), Rebecca Byrne (32nd in 12.26), Helen French (37th in 12.34), Zoe Melling (48th in 12.52), Kathleen Curran (55th in 13.05) and Doireann Hester (60th in 13.14). The team finished in 5th place. In the men’s 6k race Paul Fleming had a great run to finish 5th overall and 3rd M35 in a time of 20.02, followed by Turlough Conway (18th in 20.27), Ronan Kearns (23rd in 20.51), Greg Byrne (24th in 20.52), Michael Freeley (26th in 20.56), Denis Everett (52nd in 22.04), Tom Bishop (67th in 22.30), Joe Casey (75th in 22.44), John Farrelly (Tom Cuddy (96th and 3rd M55 in 23.17), Denis Daly (97th in 23.19), Sean Doyle (106th in 23.37), John McHugh (111th in 23.45), John Hogan (119th in 23.58), Don O’Carroll (146th in 24.41), Eric Cullen (151st in 25.00), Terry Clarke (168th in 25.44), and Philip Wright (174th in 26.38). Peter McDermott competed in the O/65 men’s 3k race and scored bronze in his category. Well done to all. Both the M35 and M50 teams finished second.
