Well done to the club athletes who competed in the National Novice Cross Country Championships this afternoon, held in bitterly cold conditions on a muddy course in Santry. In the women’s 4k race, Derval Devaney was 35th in a time of 16.45, leading her team mates Aisling O’Connor (79th in 17.49), Rebecca Byrne (119th in 18.49) and Aisling Tohill (129th in 20.18) home to finish in 14th position. David Scanlon had a stormer in the men’s 6k, keeping pace with the lead pack from the outset to finish 6th, and leading the Dublin team to silver medal position. Dave Power was 60th in a time of 22.22. Provisional results of the women’s race and the men’s race are on the AAI site and some photos are in the gallery. Well done to all.
