Congratulations to Sean Hehir who was a close 3rd in the 10000m at the National Track & Field Championships at Morton Stadium, finishing less than two seconds behind the second placed athlete in a time of 30.17.29. Also on Saturday afternoon, Lawrence Boran, Jason Reid and Ronan Kearns competed in the 800m heats, clocking times of 2.00.15, 2.03.91 and 2.04.24 respectively. Paul Fleming ran 4.10.27 in the first 1500m heat, finishing in 13th place in 4.10.27, and Mitchell Byrne finished 10th in the second heat in 4.02.63. On Sunday Paul Stephenson was second in the first of two 5000m heats in a time of 15.30.25, followed by Matthew Horrigan (5th in 15.41.02), Robert Murphy (6th in 15.45.95), Ciaran Aylward (11th in 16.27.87) and David Scanlon (13th in 16.34.06). Louis McCarthy ran 15.30.01 in the second race, finishing in 19th position. Well done to everyone who represented the club at the championships.
